I have been a professional photographer for over 20 years. I live in North Yorkshire, but spend most of my time travelling and shooting. A background in photojournalism has made me a proud generalist; each assignment demanding a different blend of production, shooting, directing, lighting, editing and retouching. With a unique style that combines reportage realism and studio-quality lighting on any location, I’ve been making real life look cinematic since 2002. I am versatile and can work quickly and think creatively on the spot, but never sacrifice attention to detail.
My work has taken me across the globe – from the Maasai Mara to Manchester, Beirut to Barlinnie, The Vatican to The Gorbals. Along the way I’ve met everyone – royals, prime ministers, murderers, artists, addicts, CEOs, soldiers, eccentrics, dancers….I even once shook hands with the Pope!
As well as my long-standing work with The Times newspaper, I work with a select group of high-profile brands, creating imagery that drives powerful campaigns and captivates audiences. I am a fully qualified drone pilot. I can also write about myself in the third person.
